Module 1: A Guide to Dementia Awareness
- What is Dementia?
Introduces the course format and explores the question 'what is dementia?' with an overview of the condition.
- Susceptible Groups
Discusses which populations are most at risk of developing dementia.
- Signs and Symptoms
Explains key signs and symptoms to look out for when recognising dementia.
- Communication
Provides advice, guidance and best practice for communicating with people across different severities of dementia.
- Understanding and Respect
Emphasises that people with dementia must be treated with compassion and respect at all times, regardless of severity.

You will need to pass a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course in order to gain your accreditation. Once passed, we will send your official certificate by email.
