- Course Introduction
This unit provides an introduction to the Introduction to Microsoft Outlook course, outlining the course structure and how the following units cover the course content.
- Getting Started with Outlook Part 1
We begin by looking at how to log in to your Outlook email account or create one if you haven’t already. The unit then introduces you to the Ribbon and explains what the different tabs and sections do.
- Getting Started with Outlook Part 2
We continue our exploration of the Ribbon, looking at more of its features and functions. The unit concludes by walking you through the Navigation Pane and its purpose within Outlook.
- Email Folders
This unit explores the folder system in Outlook, starting with the default folders that every account includes. You’ll learn how to create, move, and delete folders, as well as how to organise emails effectively by moving them into folders.
- Writing Emails
Here, we turn to the main purpose of Outlook—writing and managing emails. The unit covers replying to, forwarding, and deleting emails, creating signatures, and retrieving accidentally deleted messages.
- Organising Emails
This unit demonstrates how to filter out junk mail and prevent important emails from being misplaced. It also introduces tagging and categorising emails, explaining the difference between the two, and finishes with how to search for specific emails in your account.
- Meetings
In the final unit, you’ll learn how to arrange and manage meetings within Outlook, including sending invitations and setting up automatic replies for when you’re unavailable to respond promptly.
Obtaining your certificate
You will need to pass a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course in order to gain your accreditation. Once passed, we will send your official certificate by email.
