Learn all about what neurodiversity is, common neurodevelopmental differences, such as autism and ADHD, and how to make small changes in the workplace to accommodate the needs of neurodiverse people, thereby improving the workplace for everyone.

The course is split into bite-sized units, which contain narrated videos to take you through the content in a straightforward manner. Candidates will undertake an online multiple-choice assessment and will receive a certificate if successful (any certificates from an official awarding body are sent to you via email).

Module 1: An Introduction to Neurodiversity
  • Course Introduction

    This unit provides an introduction to the Introduction to Neurodiversity course, outlining the course structure and explaining how the following units will cover the content.

  • What is Neurodiversity?

    We begin by exploring the history and application of the term 'neurodiversity', defining key vocabulary and concepts that form the foundation for the rest of the course.

  • Common Neurodevelopmental Differences Part 1

    This unit examines common neurodevelopmental differences such as autism, Asperger’s syndrome, and ADHD. We define each condition and discuss how these differences can affect individuals’ daily lives.

  • Common Neurodevelopmental Differences Part 2

    Continuing our exploration, this unit focuses on dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dyspraxia, explaining what each condition involves and how they impact learning, coordination, and everyday functioning.

  • Neurodiversity in the Workplace

    We look at how workplaces can better support neurodiverse individuals through inclusive practices, reasonable adjustments, and awareness. Topics include recruitment, hiring processes, and creating accessible work environments.

  • Lasting Thoughts

    In the final unit, we reflect on the key lessons of the course, emphasizing the value of neurodiversity and inclusion. The unit concludes with an introduction to a remarkable individual whose experiences bring the topic to life.

Obtaining your certificate

You will need to pass a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course in order to gain your accreditation. Once passed, we will send your official certificate by email.
