- Understanding Alcohol
In this final unit of Module 1, we look at various aspects of alcohol, including its definition, strength, units, labelling laws, and the effects and risks associated with consumption.
Module 2: Types of Licence
- Personal Licences
We start Module 2 by exploring the Personal Licence, including duties and responsibilities, eligibility criteria, how to apply, and conditions under which a licence can be suspended.
- Premises Licences
This unit examines Premises Licences, covering key facts, compulsory conditions, application processes, and variations. It also introduces the role of the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS).
- Club Premises Certificates
Here, we explore Club Premises Certificates, their qualifying criteria, relevant regulations, qualifying club activities, and how to apply for one.
- Temporary Events Notices
This unit explains Temporary Events Notices (TENs), including their constraints, when they might be used, the notification process, and how they operate in practice.
- Enforcing the Law
In this final unit of Module 2, we examine how the law is enforced, including the powers of authorised persons and how premises closures are carried out.
Module 3: The Licensing Objectives
- Prevention of Crime and Disorder
This unit covers the first licensing objective — preventing crime and disorder. It includes preventative measures, dealing with incidents, responsible drinks promotions, and encouraging responsible drinking.
- Public Safety and the Prevention of Public Nuisance
We then move on to the next two licensing objectives — public safety and the prevention of public nuisance — discussing fire prevention, health and safety, and noise and disturbance control.
