Module 1: Employability
- Course Introduction
This unit provides an introduction to the Employability course, outlining the structure of the programme and explaining how the following units cover key employability topics.
- Preparation for Work (Pre-Employment)
We begin by exploring how you can best prepare for entering the world of work. This unit provides an overview of the essential skills needed for employment and offers advice on balancing work and home life.
- Job Searching and Career Development
This unit focuses on how to search for a job effectively and how to set achievable goals in both your personal and professional life. By the end of this unit, you’ll have a strong foundation to build on throughout the rest of the course and your career.
- CV Writing and Applications
Here, we cover how to create a compelling CV and cover letter when applying for jobs. We’ll also discuss understanding job levels and tailoring applications to different positions.
- Interview Skills
This section focuses on improving your interview performance, including how to prepare for common questions, dress appropriately, communicate effectively, and follow up after an interview.
- Self-Employment
In the final unit, we explore self-employment as a career option. This includes understanding what self-employment entails, the different opportunities available, and managing finances effectively as a self-employed individual.
Obtaining your certificate
You will need to pass a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course in order to gain your accreditation. Once passed, we will send your official certificate by email.
