It also explains what first aid is all about, highlights the role of the first aider and goes on to describe how to deal with minor injuries.

Module 1: Introduction to First Aid at Work
- Aim and Purpose of First Aid
Sets out the course scope and legislation behind workplace first aid, defines first aid, and explains its overall aim and purpose.
- Expectations of a First Aider
Highlights the role and responsibilities of a workplace first aider, including the key attributes expected.
- Equipment & Infection
Details essential workplace first aid equipment and how infection occurs, with practical steps to minimise risk for the first aider, casualty and others.
- Getting Help
Explains how to summon assistance in a first aid situation—from colleagues and bystanders to health professionals and emergency services.
- Treatment of Minor Injuries
Covers recognition and treatment of common minor workplace injuries typically managed by first aiders.
Obtaining your certificate
You will need to pass a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course in order to gain your accreditation. Once passed, we will send your official certificate by email.
