Overview

This course gives the learner a good understanding of how lone working is covered by health and safety law and highlights the importance of conducting a risk assessment before every lone working episode. It goes on to demonstrate what should be involved in a risk assessment and discusses ways of reducing possible risk.

Candidates will undertake an online multiple-choice assessment and will receive a certificate if successful (any certificates from an official awarding body are sent to you via email).

Course syllabus

Module 1: Lone Working
  • Definition, Roles and Responsibilities

    Introduces the course, defines a lone worker, explains roles and responsibilities under health and safety law, and outlines what to do before starting lone-working activities.

  • Travelling, Technology and Reporting

    Covers safe practices for travelling, use of technology and temporary work arrangements, and stresses accurate incident reporting.

Obtaining your certificate

You will need to pass a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course in order to gain your accreditation. Once passed, we will send your official certificate by email.
