Overview
Developed to meet HSE guidelines, the aim of this course is to help those individuals who have been assigned the role of a traffic marshal to understand and carry out their responsibilities in accordance with nationally-recognised safe practice. This course provides in-depth information, video examples of traffic signalling, and an online assessment to prove the learner is competent. An accredited certificate is issued by an Awarding Organisation to all those that pass the assessment.

Module 1: Traffic Marshal - A Guide to Keeping Safe
- Course Introduction
Here, we describe the structure and content of the course, as well as define what is meant by the term 'workplace transport'. We then outline the role and responsibilities of a Traffic Marshal.
- Safe Site
In this section, we look at the design and layout of the site. The main focus is on segregation of vehicles and pedestrians, maintaining site security against unauthorised visitors, and ensuring good visibility for both drivers and pedestrians.
- Site Activity
In this section, we explore the various types of vehicle activity that occur on-site, focusing on the vehicle, the driver, and the importance of clear communication between the Traffic Marshal and the driver.
- Risk Assessment
This section is all about identifying hazards on the site, assessing the risks of them causing harm, and taking steps to eliminate or reduce those risks to an acceptable level.
Obtaining your certificate
You will need to pass a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course in order to gain your accreditation. Once passed, we will send your official certificate by email.
