We begin by exploring what depression is, examining common mental health conditions, debunking myths, and distinguishing between different types of depression.
- Signs and Symptoms
In this unit, we take a closer look at the emotional, physical, and behavioural signs and symptoms of depression, helping you identify how it can affect daily life and wellbeing.
- The Causes and Impact of Depression
Here, we examine the possible causes of depression and its impact on both the individual and those around them. The unit also covers how to recognise warning signs and addresses the important topic of suicide.
- Managing and Treating Depression
In the final unit of the course, we focus on managing and treating depression, exploring contributing factors, diagnosis, and treatment options. You will also learn about barriers to treatment, sources of help such as therapy and medication, and recovery models that support long-term wellbeing.
