Module 1: Understanding Mental Health
- Recognising signs and symptoms
Identify common signs and symptoms of mental ill-health or stress so you can spot when colleagues may need support.
- Challenging stigma
Explore how stigma and misconceptions affect people’s willingness to seek help and how to promote open, supportive conversations.
- Complex mental health conditions
Build awareness of a range of more complex mental health conditions and how they may impact work and day-to-day life.
Module 2: Practical Support Skills
- Using a Mental Health Action Plan
Learn how to use a structured Mental Health Action Plan to support individuals experiencing difficulties or crisis.
- Signposting to professional help
Understand how to find and signpost to appropriate external professional services and sources of guidance.
- Supporting employees at work
Gain strategies to help employees stay in work or return after mental health-related absence, while maintaining a supportive culture.
Obtaining your certificate
On successful completion of the written MCQs and verbal tasks, delegates receive a NUCO accredited Level 3 Supervising First Aid for Mental Health certificate, valid for 3 years.
Assessment
Assessment is through written multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and verbal tasks.
